Week 4 Question

When Iqbal begins to work with Eshan Kahn, he is very enthusiastic. On page 96, Eshan says, "It's Iqbal who worries me. He's so enthusiastic, but he's rash." What does he mean by this, and how is this statement a bit of foreshadowing of future events? (This means what happens later in the story that Eshan Kahn may've seen coming?)

  1. Eshan Khan means that Iqbal is a target for the moneylenders because they know that he is a helper of the liberation front and what he has done by taking away the kilns and carpet factories. Iqbal is enthusiastic because he wants to help save all the kids in pakistan and in the world, and he is rash because he wants it to happen so fast. Eshan Khan might have thought that Iqbal might be a target because he helped so much and I think if Iqbal didn’t go home on easter he would be alive today.

  2. The statement means that it is good that Iqbal wants to help other children like himself but when he does it he is not careful and takes many risks. Eshan khan knew that bad reactions would happen towards Iqbal like when they were bombed and when Iqbal got shot. Eshan saw this coming because Iqbal freeing other children from illegal factories made other people mad. The other people want to make it stop.

  3. In the book Iqbal when Eshan Khan says, “It’s Iqbal that worries me. He’s so enthusiastic, but he’s a rash.”I think that he means that Iqbal is really enthusiastic about saving the slaves. But more and more people will go against him. I think this because when there are people that have saves and are going against Iqbal. But Iqbal gets more and more people on his side, and the people that own slaves will get really angry and need to do something to stop Iqbal from them getting in trouble.

I think that the statement is foreshadowing the future because when Eshan Khan says “rash” that means carless. So Iqbal is being careless about who he talks to. So in the future that can get him in trouble.

  5. I think Eshan Khan meant that Iqbal was not as careful as he should've beem,he was more risky.Eshan probably knew that bad things were going to happen to Iqbal, because Iqbl is freeing children, and is taking down masters. And sooner or later the masters were going to do something bad cause their business is out of business.

  6. When Eshan Khan kind of foreshadows Iqbal's decision he means: “this could not turn out right and its very dangerous but he is too persistent”(what Eshan is thinking). He knows that something bad is going to happen and at least some people will not respect their opinion. Eshan Khan is a grown adult and has experienced life and understands how things work out. Iqbal is rash and doesn't understand that not everybody will listen to him. Eshan Khan knows he is doing it for a good cause but Iqbal ignores the fact that it is dangerous.
