  1. I picked the character Fatima. Fatima is an 11 year old girl who has been working in a carpet factory to pay off her family's debt. She is determined to pay off her debt so she could get back home. She tries to be as good as possible, this concludes to everyone else calling her the Master's Pet. The other kids were envious of her. In the book it even says that she gets a pat on the head by Hussian Khan every one and a while.

  2. I chose the character Karim.Karim is a bragart and is not trustworthy. If one of the kids at the carpet factory were to do someone the master would not allow behind the masters back Karim would tell Hussain.Fatima says in the book Karim is like Hussain,s spy.If Fatima would of told Karim that Iqbal had the plan to run away he would tell Hussain. He also always brags about how he went to the cinema even though they dont believe him.

  4. I chose Karim as my character. Karim is a bragart and is not trustworthy. Fatima says he is like Hussains spy. Anything the kids at the carpet factory do that there not allowed to do Karim tells Hussain. If Fatima told Karim that Iqbal had plans to run away Karim would tell Hussain and Iqbal would be throne in the tomb. He is always bragging about how he got to see two movies at the cinema but the kids at the carpet factory never believe him.

  5. I chose Fatima because she is very interested in things, like how she wanted to know how to get out of the carpet factory and why the debt can never be paid off. She also knows a lot of stuff about what is happening around the carpet factory, like how she knew the foreign customers were coming to buy carpets and how not to get in the tomb. She also works hard and never messes up on the pattern she is given and so has never gotten punished. She has been put in the carpet factory because her family sent her there to pay off the family’s debt. Fatima is even called “the masters pet” and also say with that “that's why he doesn't punish her” The master is so happy that Fatima works hard and doesn't complain about not having enough food. Fatima likes to talk with Iqbal every day.

  6. I think Fatima is a strong beliver and is also very wise.I think she is because she knows who to belive and when. for example everyone did not belive Iqbal when he said that he moved that many times. She is also wise because like I said she somewhat knows who and when to belive.for example she thought about if her body wants to belive it or not. she said no and Iqbal told the truth to only her.that is why she is a beliver and wise.

  7. I picked the character Iqbal. Iqbal has just arrived at the carpet factory and is already put in the tomb for cutting a very nice carpet. He has a lot of courage for doing that and trying not to look scared when he first arrives at the carpet factory. He also has a big heart. He has a big heart by saying he would run away with the other children. I bet he was feeling nervous when he first arrived. I also think that Iqbal had to be so hot, when he was in the tomb and in the factory in the summer. I think Iqbal is afraid, friendly, encouraging (when he tells them there is a way out) and mischievous (like when he cut the carpet) and brave.

  8. Iqbal is a young boy who was sent to a carpet factory to pay off his family’s debt. I agree with Karim when he said that Iqbal is very talented with making the carpets. I wonder what it means by “So I kept my peace… ...but Iqbal didn’t keep his,” but I couldn’t read ahead to find out. I wonder...

  9. I think that Iqbal is fearless because he wasn’t afraid when he ripped the most valuable carpet. He wasn’t afraid of Hussain Khan, but Hussain put him in the tomb. The reason it was valuable was because Hussain said no one has ever finished the carpet because it had hard patterns.I also think Iqbal is strong because he was able to survive the tomb for 6 days.
